Ram, Ranger ride
A couple of weeks ago B.J., RL, Kellie, Russell and myself went for a ranger ride out in the desert towards Searchlight! It was more or less just a ride to get away from the house and have some fun. We just kept taking roads that we had never been on before. On the last road we turned up and parked we found these Desert Bighorn. There are 12 rams in total and only two ewes.
In the picture above there are acutally four rams. The third is to the left and behind a bush. All you can really see is his horns. Look close, I promise he's thereIn the picture below are nine rams that I can count. We are only about 30 yards away at this point.
Kellie sitting in the ranger because she didn't want to come hike with us up to see the rams.
B.J. and RL chillin on the rocks just before we snuck up on the rams.
Ok, the video below is of Russell on the snow day we had here in southern nevada. As usual I had to go up it first in the ranger! Than he went up the hill. He does a really good job keeping it on two wheels. Now the video below is the coolest! The plan was to sneak up and take pictures and video of the rams, not to scare them off (Russell!) As my friend Lance Adams said the first ont to run is the one to shoot! I think I counted a total of 12 rams in this video. You know I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen this many rams gathered together in one spot!
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. We had a blast out there and hopefully I can put more stuff like this on the blog.
